What does wall painting actually include?

Wall painting is much more than just a new coat of colour. A typical painting project includes for example:

• Assessment and colour planning — evaluating current surfaces, choosing colours and gloss levels.
• Protection work — protecting floors, furniture, and trim, taping and covering.
• Preparation — patching holes and cracks, taping joints, levelling, and sanding.
• Priming when needed — covering old dark colours or special surfaces.
• Actual painting — usually 2 coats of paint for an even and opaque finish.
• Finishing — edges, correcting minor imperfections, and touching up any flaws.

Wall painting — how the project progresses

We always start with a free assessment. During this we go through which rooms you want painted, assess the condition of the surfaces, and discuss your wishes regarding colours and the final result. We also review the preliminary schedule and any special considerations, such as small children's rooms, pets, or remote work.

Based on the assessment you receive a clear written quote. Once you accept the quote, we agree on the timing of the painting work and go through practical matters: how to arrange furniture, what you should do in advance, and how many days the painting will take.

Before painting, we protect floors, fixed furniture, and other surfaces. After that we carry out the preparation: patching holes and cracks, levelling larger unevenness if needed, and sanding and cleaning surfaces before painting.

Once the preparation is complete, we begin the actual painting. We use primer when necessary and paint the walls with usually 1–2 opaque coats in the planned colour. Edges and finishing details are done carefully so the result looks clean even in corners and edges.

Finally, we inspect the surfaces, fix any individual imperfections, and remove protective coverings. We take care of waste and protective paper removal, do a basic cleanup, and go through the finished result with you. You will also receive instructions on when surfaces can be washed and what to keep in mind during the first few weeks.
