Appliance wiring covers all permanently installed household appliances and devices whose connection to the electrical network requires a professional. The most commonly connected appliances are ceramic or induction stoves, ovens, electric sauna heaters, electric vehicle charging stations, hot water tanks and heat pumps. These appliances consume significantly more electricity than standard plug-in household appliances and often require their own circuit group and thicker cabling. An incorrectly made connection can cause appliance damage, an electrical fire or a life-threatening situation. Kevyt Remppa arranges appliance wiring in cooperation with authorised electrical contractors who ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of every installation. A commissioning inspection report is prepared for all wiring work, documenting the quality of the work and serving as proof of proper installation.
Every high-powered electrical appliance has its own requirements for cabling and fuse size. An induction stove typically requires a 3-phase connection and a 16 or 25 amp fuse, while an electric sauna heater may require up to 3 x 20 amp fuses depending on its power rating. A single-phase 16 amp circuit is often sufficient for an oven, but this must also be checked on a case-by-case basis. A professional electrician compares the appliance power specifications with the existing cabling and fuse capacity, and ensures there are no load issues with other appliances at the installation point. During installation, the appliance earthing is also checked and it is verified that the wiring is mechanically protected appropriately.
We carry out appliance wiring across the Helsinki metropolitan area and surrounding municipalities. The service combines seamlessly with other electrical work — for example, during a kitchen renovation, a new stove and oven can be connected at the same time as other appliance installations. We always provide a free assessment where we review the appliance requirements and the current state of the electrical system.
Appliance wiring is often part of a larger renovation involving the kitchen, bathroom or sauna. In such cases, it makes sense to handle lighting installations at the same time and check whether the distribution board needs modifications due to the new appliances. A comprehensive approach ensures that all electrical work is completed in one go and the home's electrical system works flawlessly in the future. Proper appliance installation is also eligible for the household tax deduction, which can result in significant savings on installation costs.
