- Wall size and length: A larger wall area requires more framing material, plasterboard, and labour hours. A typical partition wall is about 3-5 metres long and extends from floor to ceiling.
- Sound insulation requirements: A basic partition wall is the most affordable option, but sound insulation requires additional insulation, double boarding, and precise sealing.
- Frame structure: A timber frame is often the most affordable and suitable for most household partition walls. A steel frame is dimensionally stable and a durable alternative.
